THE VISIONARY

Crafiya began with a deep love for craft, culture, and the quiet beauty of handmade details.

My name is Nasim Malek, and my journey started more than 27 years ago when I studied fashion designing. During that time, I was introduced to the powerful world of tribal and handmade jewellery — African Masai beadwork, Afghan tribal ornaments, Gujarat beadwork, Karnataka Lambani and Banjara jewellery, Kachchh vintage embroidery, and traditional handmade adornments.

What stayed with me was not just the design, but the emotion behind it. I saw how every bead, shell, thread, and pattern carried identity, memory, community, and self-expression.

Over the years, I met artisans, observed different craft traditions, and understood how handmade jewellery could be reimagined for today’s woman — a woman who may live in a modern city, dress with global taste, scroll through trends every day, but still craves something authentic, soulful, and unique.

That thought became the foundation of Crafiya.

I wanted to create a brand where traditional craft inspiration meets modern styling. A place where handmade beaded jewellery, shell jewellery, cowrie waist belts, chokers, earrings, and accessories could feel elegant, wearable, expressive, and relevant for today’s occasions — from Navratri nights and festive celebrations to beach holidays, parties, gifting moments, and personal style statements.
